Genetics isn't something most of us think about on a regular basis. The last time I really thought about it was when I was pregnant with #2. I was considered "old" (AMA - advanced maternal age) at that time so we did the genetics thing: amnio, Nuchal Fold, you name it we opted for it.
Today is a day I am thinking about it again. I heard from my gynie today; my insurance company has approved the BRCA1/2 genetic test. I'm not sure what I will do for myself if I have mutated genes but it will be a good thing to know for our son and our daughter. Maybe there will be a cure before #2 has "Girls" of her own. Wouldn't that be wonderful - a BC cure for all of our children - no breast cancer for our sons or daughters.
Did you know approximately 1% of breast cancer patients are male?
